Difference between Front-End Web Development & Back-End Web Development

Below you will know the difference and actual meaning of Front-End Web Development and back-end Web Development.


Front-End Web Development

Front-end development is part of the website that the user or client can see on their device screen. The user or client also interacts with the front-end of the device.


Or a part of the website that the user or client can access by just scrolling or clicking on any button. The part of the website that users can see or use is also called the front portion of the website. In simple words, Front-end web development is called the Front portion of a website.

Front end portion includes website writing content, website images, website videos, website buttons, website animations, etc. Everything that is displayed on the user side includes front-end development.


A person who builds the front portion of any website is called a Front-end web developer. A front-end developer's job is to build the website for client use. A front-end developer displays any type of website content to their user.


Example #1 of Front-end web development


If you use Facebook, you see images, videos, or text through scrolling or clicking on some button while using Facebook, it is a part of front-end development. This part is also called the front portion of Facebook.


In simple words, any content that you see while using Facebook is a front portion of Facebook.

When you build your house, the part of the house that can be seen by outsiders is called the front-facing portion of the house, because everyone can see it. 


Exactly this front-facing portion will be called Front-end development in the era of programming or web development.


Back-End Web Development

The back end is the part of the website where all the logic of the website is stored. The back-end side of the website contains the data stored on the website.


The back-end side of the website is called a hidden portion of the website. Website users or clients can not access this part of the website. No one can see this part of the website. Only the website owner can see or access this part of the website.


The person who develops the hidden portion of the website is called a Back-end developer. A Back-end developer's job is to store any type of website data in the database.


A Back-end developer always works with website logic and databases. The back-end developer creates logic for the server side.

As you see above in example #1 of Front-end development, the content that shows while using Facebook is included in the front-end. Now to to view Facebook content we have to create a Facebook account.


To create a Facebook account we have to add our personal information to the Facebook form. Now that information goes to the back end and gets saved. It is up to the back-end developer to figure out how to save this information in the database.


Nobody can see that information in the database. Only the database admin can see that information.


Example #2 of Back-end web development


As you see above in example #2 of Front-end development, your house is the front end for people from the outside, but how many rooms are inside the house, All these things are known only to the owner of the house, so it is included in the back end.


Front-End & Back-End Web Development Which is Best?

Now if there is a question in your mind about which one should learn then it is up to you. It depends on your interest in what you want to learn.


If your interest is to display anything on a website then learn front-end web development but if your interest is logic or data then you learn back-end web development.
